Welcome to "Let's Apply to College!" a 5-week college application bootcamp led by college admissions expert, Dr. Aviva Legatt. By the end of this bootcamp, you will:

  1. Identify what makes you unique and "diverse" in a very competitive applicant pool.
  2. Write an outstanding college essay.
  3. Learn how to build relationships with college admissions officers.

This bootcamp combines group and one-on-one instruction for up to 40 students, and is limited to Class of 2018 high school students (and their families).

After completing, you will continue to have access to Dr. Legatt via her private Facebook group, College Application Success Portal, and email tips.

Each week, the course will be customized to you; I'll survey you ahead of class to ensure I address your most pressing questions. We'll also have 10-15 minutes of live Q&A at each bootcamp meeting.

Part 1: What makes you unique and "diverse?" How to differentiate yourself in a competitive applicant pool.  Colleges want to admit a class that represents a diversity of thought, background, and experience. But most applicants have no idea what they'll add to the class; as a result, they fail to make a compelling argument about why they should be admitted. In Part 1, I'll help you identify your "uniqueness" and strengths that colleges look for so that you can stand out as an attractive applicant.

Part 2: Craft an Outstanding Essay: Persuade college admissions officers to admit you. Your college essay needs to be memorable, authentic, and distinctly you. Learn how the essay is viewed in the context of competitive college admissions and complete a version of your Common App essay. Guest appearance by College Essay Guy, Ethan Sawyer, author of College Essay Essentials.

Part 3: Build Relationships with College Admissions Officers: How to make yourself college admissions famous. When college admissions officers know who you are before you submit, you are more likely to be admitted. You'll walk away with tips for approaching college admissions officers and professors so that you stand out and become more than a number.

Meetings take place on Wednesdays (May 24-June 21) from 8:00-9:00 PM Eastern Time. Each will include a live Q&A. Ask me anything!

Sessions are delivered live and recorded (so don’t worry if you have to miss one).

Schedule doesn't work for you? Video files will be stored on our private bootcamp website, where you can download them at your convenience.

You can also work with me one-on-one or subscribe to my College Application Success Portal!

About Your Instructor

Hi! Dr. Aviva Legatt here. I am offering this bootcamp because I am passionate about helping students to understand what they bring to a college, and how colleges are motivated to admit or deny students. This insight, my friends, is ultimately how you find the right strategy to stand out in a very competitive applicant pool.

It is important to me that this offering is affordable so that more students have access to knowledge that allows them to gain a competitive edge.

As a college admissions expert and college application guide, I am frequently quoted in the press, including Business Insider, Reader's Digest, BusinessBecause, ZenDesk, and GenHERation

I have helped hundreds of students get admitted to their top-choice college.

With my experience serving on the freshman and transfer admissions committees for Wharton and as past director of Wharton's Leadership in the Business World, I have unique insight that is not readily available to other college admissions experts, students, and parents.

As a professor at Penn, I am dedicated to teaching and student learning. You can check out the links to my other online courses at The School of the New York Times and the University of Pennsylvania.

I look forward to seeing you in May!

Let's work together to make you look as good on paper as you do in real life!
