UPCOMING EVENT: Give Yourself A Chance to Get Admitted To Ivy League and Elite Universities

LET'S APPLY TO COLLEGE!

A college application bootcamp for Class of 2018 students and their families.

Registration open for August!

A COMPETITIVE EDGE

Welcome to "Let's Apply to College!" a college application bootcamp led by college admissions expert, Dr. Aviva Legatt. By the end of this bootcamp, you will:

  1. Identify what makes you unique in a very competitive applicant pool.
  2. Write an outstanding college essay.
  3. Learn how to build relationships with college admissions officers.
  4. Understand how to structure a compelling resume/activity list that will "wow" the admissions committee.
  5. Know how to handle displaying your best work in portfolios and social media.

This bootcamp is limited to Class of 2018 high school students (and their families).

After completing, you will continue to have access to Dr. Legatt via her email tips and ongoing guidance.

WHAT'S COVERED

Each week, the course will be customized to you; I'll survey you ahead of class to ensure I address your most pressing questions. We'll also have 10-15 minutes of live Q&A at each bootcamp meeting.

Part 1: What makes you unique? How to differentiate yourself in a competitive applicant pool.  Colleges want to admit a class that represents a diversity of thought, background, and experience. But most applicants have no idea what they'll add to the class; as a result, they fail to make a compelling argument about why they should be admitted. In Part 1, I'll help you identify your "uniqueness" and the strengths that colleges look for so that you can stand out as an attractive applicant across all of your application materials. This includes your portfolio, resume and social media.

Part 2: Craft an Outstanding Essay: Persuade college admissions officers to admit you. Your college essay needs to be memorable, authentic, and distinctly you. Learn how the essay is viewed in the context of competitive college admissions and complete a version of your Common App essay with expert guidance by Dr. Aviva Legatt, college admissions expert and former Senior Associate Director of Admissions at Wharton.

Part 3: Build Relationships with College Admissions Officers: How to make yourself college admissions famous. When college admissions officers know who you are before you submit, you are more likely to be admitted. You'll walk away with tips for approaching college admissions officers and professors so that you stand out and become more than a number.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER BOOTCAMPS?

If you've been looking around for a bootcamp, you'll find two spectrums of bootcamps; one for the masses at low prices with low personalization and one for the select few, costing upwards of $15,000 plus the cost of travel and the hassle and time of getting to the bootcamp.

My bootcamp marries the accessibility of the more affordable option with the personalization and insider knowledge of the high-priced (but not necessarily higher-value) bootcamps.

You won't find many college application coaches with my level of expertise, which has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report, Forbes, The School of the New York Times, Business Insider, and more. My tenure as Senior Associate Director of Special Programs and Admissions at Wharton made me keenly aware of the subtle, but important influences that determine applicants' acceptance or denial to college. I hold a doctorate from Penn in Higher Education, so I'm also an expert on the history and culture of universities. This history and culture determines what qualities universities value and what qualities they do not.

Offering this bootcamp online allows me to work around your schedule to ensure you have what you need to succeed while maintaining a high-quality, high-value experience.

Believe it or not, we'll have fun while we work together! This is your future and yes, it's scary, but it's also exciting.

BOOTCAMP SCHEDULE

Meetings take place Monday-Friday, August 28-September 1, from 8:00-9:00 PM Eastern Time. Each will include a live Q&A. Ask me anything!

Sessions are delivered live and recorded (so don’t worry if you have to miss one).

Schedule doesn't work for you? Video files will be stored on our private bootcamp website, where you can download them at your convenience.

Not enough support? You'll have the option to work with me one-on-one as well.

About Your Instructor

Hi! Dr. Aviva Legatt here. I have helped hundreds of students get admitted to their top-choice college; see my results. With my experience serving on the freshman and transfer admissions committees for Wharton and as past director of Wharton's Leadership in the Business World, I have unique insight that is not readily available to other college admissions experts, students, and parents.

Not everyone can afford a private counselor or high-priced bootcamps, which is why I wanted to create a high-quality offering that would be accessible to more people.

There's no reason why the information I provide on the bootcamp should be a mystery, but it is! I'll walk you step-by-step through what you need to know to be a truly outstanding applicant.

As a college admissions expert and college application guide, I am frequently quoted in the press, including U.S. News and World Report, Business Insider, Reader's Digest, BusinessBecause, ZenDesk, and GenHERation. I also blog for Forbes on issues of Millennials pursuing advanced degrees.

As a professor at Penn, I am dedicated to teaching and student learning. You can check out the links to my other online courses at The School of the New York Times and the University of Pennsylvania.

Let's work together to make you look as good on paper as you do in real life!
